Cyber Pet Care (the “app”) is an app for Wear OS watches and Android phones, published on Google Play by MK Ideabox (the “developer”). It is a game in which you look after a pixel pet.
The developer collects no personal data. There is no account, no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics and no developer server. If you install it on both a watch and a phone, your pet’s state is synchronized between your own two devices only (section 5).
| Data | Which device | Source | Purpose | Stored |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Step count (today’s total) | Watch only | Wear OS Health Services passive step updates, only if you grant the physical activity permission (ACTIVITY_RECOGNITION) | +1 pet EXP per 250 steps (max 60 EXP a day) | On the watch. Raw step values are not kept — only counted step batches and today’s granted EXP |
| (Steps on the phone) | — | The phone app does not read your steps. It never requests the physical activity permission and contains no step-reading feature | — | Nothing |
| Pet state (fullness, mood, EXP, level, growth stage, sickness, care streak, totals, name) | Watch and phone | Your actions and the passage of time | Game progress and watch face display | On each device (Jetpack DataStore) |
| Notification preference | Watch and phone | App settings | Hungry / sick alerts | On the device |
| Item purchases | Watch and phone | Google Play’s billing system | Granting the item pack you bought | Only the item counts, on the device. The app never sees your payment details |
The developer receives none of this. There is no developer-operated server, and the app sends the developer nothing. App data is also excluded from cloud backup and device transfer. The app uses the network in exactly two cases: buying an item pack through Google Play, and syncing your pet between your watch and phone (section 5). Both are Google services, and the developer cannot read either.
Step counts are read and used on the watch only, solely to award your pet EXP. Raw step counts never leave the watch — they are not synced to your phone either, and only the EXP earned is synchronized.
The phone app never reads your steps at all. It does not request the physical activity permission (ACTIVITY_RECOGNITION) and contains no step-reading feature; the step EXP shown on the phone’s records screen is a value your watch earned and synced over. The physical activity permission is optional on the watch too: without it you can still feed, play with and pet your companion, and only step EXP is unavailable. You can revoke the permission at any time in system settings.
Every hour the app checks your pet and posts a local notification when it is hungry or sick. Notifications are created on the device and never go through a server. They are held back during night hours (23:00–07:00), can be turned off in settings, and denying the notification permission does not block the game.
If you have both devices, they divide the job so you never get the same alert twice: when your watch is reachable, only the watch notifies you and the phone stays silent. The phone notifies you only when the watch cannot be seen. This decision is made on the device and never goes through a developer server.
The app acts as the “Cyber Pet status” complication data source. When a watch face requests it, the app supplies the pet’s species, growth stage, mood, fullness, level and name within the same watch. These values stay inside the watch and contain no raw step data and no identifiers.
This app requires no account and never sends your pet’s state to our servers — we do not run any. If you install it on both a watch and a phone, that state is synchronized between your two devices only, using the Wear OS Data Layer provided by Google Play services.
The transfer happens directly over Bluetooth when the devices are connected, or is relayed through Google’s servers when Bluetooth is unavailable. In both cases the transfer is end-to-end encrypted and we cannot read it. Only apps sharing the same package name and signing certificate can exchange this data, so no other app can access it. This synchronization is a Google Play services feature, and Google’s privacy policy also applies to it.
Step counts are read on the watch only and never leave it — only the EXP your pet earned is synchronized, never your raw step count. Synchronization is possible between an Android phone and a watch only: a watch paired with an iPhone has no Wear OS Data Layer available, so nothing is synchronized and the watch app simply runs on its own. If you install the app on only one device, no synchronization happens at all, and each device keeps working on its own even when the other is out of range.
The app sells optional consumable item packs (a milk pack, a battery-snack pack and an instant-medicine pack). You can play the entire game to the end without buying anything.
Payments are processed by Google Play’s billing system. Payment details such as card numbers are never passed to the developer and the app cannot see them. Google collects that information directly from you, governed by Google’s terms and policies. The only thing the app stores on your device is how many items you own; purchase history is not sent to any developer server, because we do not run one.
When you change devices or reinstall the app, purchases are restored through Google Play. Restoration is tied to your Play account, and the developer keeps no separate record of your purchases. Refunds follow Google Play’s policies.
| Permission | Purpose | Optional |
|---|---|---|
android.permission.ACTIVITY_RECOGNITION — watch app only; the phone app does not request it | Receive today’s step count from Health Services to award pet EXP | Yes |
android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS — watch and phone | Local hungry / sick alerts | Yes |
android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — watch and phone | Restore step registration (watch) and the hourly check after a reboot | System permission |
android.permission.INTERNET and com.android.vending.BILLING | Required for in-app purchases (section 6) and device-to-device sync (section 5). The app does not declare these itself — the Google Play Billing Library and Google Play services libraries merge them into the manifest. They are never used to talk to a developer server, because there is none | Library / system permission |
The app requests no location, body sensor, contacts, storage, camera or microphone permission.
Your data lives on your own devices (watch and phone) and the developer keeps no copy. There is no cloud backup — app data is excluded from Android’s cloud backup and device transfer, so if you uninstall the app on both devices your pet’s progress is gone and cannot be recovered (item packs you bought are still restored through Google Play, see section 6). Synced data may be held briefly by Google Play services in order to deliver it, and the developer has no way to read or delete it. Use Settings → Reset pet (two confirmations) to erase the pet state and records; uninstalling the app removes its data from that device. If you use both devices, reset or uninstall on both to erase everything.
The developer shares or sells nothing to third parties, and no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting SDKs are used. However, the device-to-device sync in section 5 is carried out by Google Play services and, when Bluetooth is unavailable, is relayed through Google-operated servers that may be located outside your country. This exists solely to deliver data between your own two devices, it is end-to-end encrypted, and the developer is not a recipient. Purchases are processed by Google Play; payment details are never passed to the app.
The app is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, regardless of age.
The effective date above is updated when this policy changes; any change in data handling will be announced with the app update and in the store listing.
